ՊԱՏՄԱԿԱՆ ՎԱՎԵՐԱԳԻՐ
Երբ Գնելը բանակի մեջ մտավ, թագավորին իմաց տվեցին նրա գալուստը։ Ապա արքունիքից հրաման տրվեց` բանակից դուրս պահել նրան և տանել սպանել․..
Նրանք հասան, բռնեցին Գնել պատանուն, ձիուց վեր գցեցին, ձեռքերը ետևը կապեցին և առան տարան գլխատելու տեղը։ Նրա կինը նույն վաշտի մեջ էր իր ամուսնու հետ և եկել էր ժանվարով: Երբ տեսավ, որ իր ամուսնուն բռնեցին ու կապեցին, իսկույն վազեց եկեղեցի, որտեղ բանակի մարդկանց համար աստվածային արարողություն էր կատարվում` առավոտյան աղոթքը, ուր գտնվում էր նաև Ներսես մեծ եպիսկոպոսապետը: Կինը, հասնելով եպիսկոպոսապետի մոտ, գուժում էր իր անմեղ ամուսնու կորուստը: Ճիչ բարձրացրեց` ասելով. «Շտապիր, հասիր, ամուսնուս առանց մեղքի, առանց հանցանքի խողխողում են»: (Իսկ նա) արարողությունն ընդհատելով` վազում է թագավորի սենյակը, դռանը հասնելով ներս է ընկնում թագավորի մոտ: Իսկ թագավորը, երբ տեսավ մեծ եպիսկոպոսապետին, իմանալով, որ եկել է բարեխոսելու և համոզելու, որ Գնելը չսպանվի, սամուրենին գլխին քաշած, շտապով իր երեսը ծածկում է` խռմփացնելով` իբր թե քնած է, որպես թե նրա խոսքերը չի լսում… Իսկ Գնել պատանուն տարան արքունի որսատեղի մոտ և գլխատեցին լեռան մի բլրի վրա, որ Լսին են կոչում…
Ապա հրաման տրվեց թագավորից. բանակում եղող բոլոր մարդիկ` մեծ ու փոքր, առհասարակ առանց բացառության, գնան կոծ անեն ու ողբան սպանված Արշակունի մեծ սեպուհ Գնելին. ոչ ոք չհամարձակվի չգնալ: Ինքը` թագավորն էլ, գնալով լացողների մեջ, նստեց, ողբաց իր եղբորորդուն, որին ինքն սպանեց։ Գնացել նստել էր դիակի մոտ, ինքը լալիս էր և հրամայում էր լաց ու կոծը սաստ- կացնել սպանվածի համար: Իսկ սպանվածի կինը` Փառանձեմը, զգեստները պատառոտած, վարսերը արձակած, կուրծքը բացած, կոծում էր սգատեղում, բարձր ձչում էր, աղիողորմ ողբով ու արտասուքով բոլորին լացացնում էր…
